Consul's Night

Commendable Consul’s Nite This year the International Services Committee decided to conduct its annual gala Consul’s Nite a little differently. Instead of hosting multiple Consuls General together, the focus was on one nation – Germany. Introduced to RCB through the good offices of Rtn. Deepak Nakra, the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bangalore, Her Excellency Margit Hellwig-Bötte, graciously consented to be our chief guest for the evening. She was welcomed with a uniquely cross-cultural entertainment; the presentation of a traditional Bavarian dance performance by a few Indian employees of Bangalore-based Trivium eSolutions, an IT company with a strong Germany connect.

Election Awareness - Rotaract Event

ELECTION AWARENESS WALKATHON. The Rotaract Club of Bangalore took part in the Election Awareness Walkathon on April 14th. The goal was to spread awareness about the upcoming Elections and to raise certain common topics which directly affect the voters of Bangalore.

How to deal with these changes in terms of communication and fundraising was brought forward in the rib tickling play “Wheels”, written and directed by Rtn. Bill Forge Sponsored ‘Happy Anganwadis’ Inaugurated Bill Forge, through its CSR team, has been working towards bringing improvements in the areas of Education, Health, & Community Development right from 2014. As a part of the CSR initiative, Bill Forge had adopted two Anganwadis in its neighbourhood a few years ago. A new state-of-the-art 610 sft. Anganwadi built in Vaderamanchanahalli village was inaugurated on the 23rd of November 2018

4 MORE ANGANAWADIS INAUGURATED On 30th March, Saturday morning, President Rtn. Vivek Prabhu set out with First Lady Ann. Shalini Prabhu and Rtn. M C Dinesh, Chairman Education and Literacy Committee, to inaugurate the next four Happy Anganwadis – numbers 21 to 24 of this year. Assistant Governor for our Club Rtn. K. H. Ashok joined in for the occasion.

I have been hearing a lot of buzz about the Rotary Four Way Test lately. I have been reading a lot about it and listening to speakers talking about it as well. One question really popped up in my mind – Is this simple Rotary Four Way Test really relevant today?

Peace and Conflict

Sixty-five million people are displaced by armed conflict or persecution, and 90 percent of armed-conflict casualties are civilians, half of them children.

Fighting disease

More than 100 million people are pushed into poverty each year because of medical costs. We aim to improve and expand access to low-cost and free health care in underdeveloped areas.

Providing clean water

More than 2.5 billion people lack access to adequate sanitation facilities. At least 3,000 children die each day from diarrheal diseases caused by unsafe water.

Saving mothers and children

At least 7 million children under the age of five die each year due to malnutrition, poor health care, and inadequate sanitation.

Supporting education

Sixty-seven million children worldwide have no access to education and more than 775 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate.

Growing local economies

Nearly 1.4 billion employed people live on less than $1.25 a day. We carry out service projects that enhance economic and community development and develop opportunities for decent and productive work for young and old.
