World Hepatitis Day –Social Media Awareness Campaign
The Rotaract Club of Bangalore (RID 3190) in association with the Rotaract Club of Bombay West (RID 3141) conducted a week-long online social media awareness campaign culminating on July 28th - World Hepatitis Day - in an effort to spread awareness and combat viral hepatitis around the world.
The World Health Organization data show an estimated 325 million people worldwide are living with Chronic Hepatitis B or Chronic Hepatitis C.
The initiative proved to be a success with 3,069 participants via social media. During the campaign, the members from various Rotaract clubs took photos holding print outs of awareness quotes and slogans highlighting the facts, stigmas and issues surrounding hepatitis.
