Bangalore Children’s Choir and Oogelaktik light up Christmas evening
The Christmas Celebrations in the Rotary Club of Bangalore kicked off in rather spectacular fashion as Maya Mascarenhas and Bangalore-based rock band Oogelaktik and regaled us with their awesome.music and inimitable style. The evening also saw a packed-house with several guests to partake in the festivities.
The program kicked-off with opening remarks from Rtn Solomon Paramel and Annette Tamara Paramel. Solomon, who was the main organizer of the event and the emcee for the evening began the welcome address on the spirit of Christmas. His talk was continued by Tamara who spoke on what Christmas meant to her. The latter’s Christmas message was, in particular, well received and aptly appreciated by the audiences and guests alike.
Much to the enlightenment of the children in the audience, Santa Claus too made his presence felt as the children present had a ball. Rtr. Joseph Wilson from the Rotaract Club of Bangalore played a joyous Santa Claus that evening.
The last time Maya Mascarenhas and her band of merry children took the stage in the Rotary House of Friendship, there simply was not enough room for the entire troupe. This time, in spite of having just a fourth of her group, the children managed to keep the audience enthralled with some fantastic Christmas Carols.
As the engagement increased, the dance floor too began to fill up. As RCB President Vivek Prabhu adjourned the meeting, rock band Oogelaktik began their jam. Oogelaktik comprised of Rahul (Lead Vocals), Gautham (Lead guitar), Sutej (Vocals, keys and guitar), Ruthvik (Drums), Ashvin (bass guitar) all of whom managed to keep the crowd enthralled as the festivities came to a close.
